Our Mariachi students learn to play the music of Mexico and study modern Mexican folk-art culture.
The mariachi class works with experienced mariachi students and new students, divided into a performance group and a developmental group. We perform with our "Gold" group while teaching our "Blue" group fundamentals and performance technique.
Mariachi Las Aguilas de Carpenter del Oro play five to six concerts per year, attend a major Mariachi Conference and perform frequently in the local community. Our goal every year is to be one of the very best middle school mariachi ensembles in Southern Arizona.
Las Aguilas de Carpenter is available to perform at a few public and some private events. Students sometimes use these activities to raise funds for trajes de charro and other uniform items, and to help pay the costs of the festivals they attend.
